April 2021 Public Consultation
In light of the Covid Pandemic and the social distancing requirements in place at the time, a Virtual Consultation on the proposals for Jacksons Field was held in April / May 2021.
The consultation consisted of a number of draft plans and layouts, as well technical and design details hosted on this dedicated project website. The website address with this information was publicised via a comprehensive mailout to the local community including over 3,200 residential addressed and 240 businesses. The consultation ran from the 16th April until the 16th May 2021 and the public were able to comment on the proposals via email info@jacksonsfield.co.uk or via post.
The main criteria in preparing the draft masterplan was to ensure the design of the development considered the context and character of the surrounding area.
The proposals in 2021 included the delivery of high-quality new housing, along with facilitating the delivery of a new link road. In summary, they included the following:
- Approximately 75 new homes, to be a mix of 1-,2-,3- and 4-bedroom properties
- The proposed homes would be predominantly 2 and 2.5 storeys
- The proposals include vehicle, cycle and pedestrian access from Bridgestone Drive, Princes Road and Hollands Farm
- The design will be landscape-led
- Carefully considered new landscaping across the site and along the boundaries
- Pedestrian and cycle access connections into Bridgestone Drive, Princes Road, and the boundaries of Hollands Farm
- Linkages to enhance and make the best use of existing Public Rights of Way
